Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane from the Rascals make The Last Shadow Puppets. They released the album pictured above, The Age of The Understatement, on late April, that somehow has gone unnoticed to me until yesterday ( I can be bluntly ignorant at times).
They perform galloping rock songs with a retro cinematic feel and a Summer breeze touch. On some songs it seems you´re driving on a racetrack, on others you´re cruising on a convertible along a Mediterranean road. Definitely not a monotonous band and certainly a promise for the future.
I´ve been hearing it non stop since yesterday and I should give it another listen soon. It´s never late enough.
I only hope I don´t accidentally hit the mute button...
Graphic designer, ilustrator with a pseudo-artistic vein. I try to earn my living as a freelancer while I depict the world as I see it, always with the hope that some charitable and enlightned soul ( who knows, maybe both) likes my work. There are two things I can´t live without since I was a kid, music and waves. I´m still a kid today with none or little will to grow up. Maybe someday that will happen, but until then, I´ll continue to unveil my world of lines, color and fantasy.

Virtual Insanity
Can´t really tell
What is true
What it´s not
What passed through
What I miss a lot
Trying to distinguish truth from fiction
Seems like my only mission
Fell in a spell
Lacking scents to smell
With no wonder stories to tell
No sweet words to sell
I have drawn
I have written
Wishing for a taste of life less bitter
Been feeling all this
Imagining this miss
While living free
Underneath a passion fruit tree
Where there´s a table
That I want her to share with me
What is this?

What About Me?
Yesterday I got a package on my mailbox with this DVD. The new movie from the guys of 1 Giant Leap that I had been waiting to be released for years.
"...is a loving crafted explosion of music and philosophy, which gives and inspiring and alarming look at our collective insanity: how we are ego-driven, needy in relationships, insatiable in desire, addicted to status, wounded by childhood and unable to stop thinking, but how we still manage to be inspired and creative..."
Find a way to view and to learn from it. Then, come out and play.
